Scenes go through cycles. Everybody wants to be a poet together. Having to keep that up gets old, so they all want to publish chapbooks at the same time. Their shit sells lead, so then they all want to conduct workshops at the same time. Turns out nobody knows shit, so then they all start doing one-man shows since no one's booking them regularly anyway. Then they all start compiling manuscripts for publishers at the same time. It's like we're all menstruating together.
